Letter to all members of the NJ State Assembly

December 8, 2015

Dear members of the NJ State Assembly,

Congratulations on your election/re-election. While you’re celebrating your victory, it might be a good time to channel this positive energy to focus on the biggest problem facing homeowners in New Jersey, which is property tax. Property tax reform should be your top priority once you take your seat in January 2016.

Property Tax Reform has been ignored for too long in New Jersey. We believe the people of New Jersey are entitled to a solution and this problem should be given immediate attention by their representatives. If unable to act on a solution within the Legislature by December 31, 2016, we propose to give the people the opportunity to vote on it directly through referendum by June 30, 2017.

This reform will ensure that everyone in New Jersey, including the members of your own families, will be able to afford their property taxes and remain in New Jersey. One day you will leave Trenton and come back to our ranks. Would you want to look back and realize that you squandered your best opportunity to fix the biggest problem facing everyone in New Jersey, including your children and grandchildren? Now is the time to fix the property tax, so fix it now while you can.

We appreciate your feedback in this matter. Please contact me for further discussion. In the meanwhile, enjoy your victory and have a happy holiday season.

Truly Yours,

George Kneisser Sr, Executive Director
